José Juan Campos Arroyo

José Juan Campos Arroyo, between 25 and 30 years old, was identified as the young man who lost his life on Tuesday afternoon after suffering a spectacular accident near Boulevard 2000, near the pedestrian bridge in the Puerta Plata neighborhood.

The young man was driving a maroon Nissan Versa when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control and violently crashed into a retaining wall located in front of the bridge on the return route. After the crash, he was trapped inside the car.

Municipal police officers, firefighters, and paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross arrived at the scene and confirmed that he no longer had vital signs.

The young man’s relatives arrived at the scene after seeing social media posts in which they recognized the vehicle. Traffic was affected in both directions while agents from the State Attorney General’s Office and Forensic Services conducted investigations to determine whether the driver was speeding or was hit by another vehicle.

It should be noted that this is not the first time an accident has occurred at this point.

Recently, another vehicle also crashed into the same retaining walls, leaving a man seriously injured, who sadly died upon arrival at the hospital.

Neighbors and motorists are urging authorities to intervene urgently, as the walls lack reflective paint or visible signage. Furthermore, there is no street lighting in the area, which increases the risk of accidents at night. The area must be rehabilitated urgently to prevent further tragedies.
